My name is Ben Galdes. I am a junior enrolled at the University of Oregon where I study advertising in the School of Journalism and Communication. I am also a producer for the SOJC’s Allen Hall Advertising (AHA) club. AHA is a student-run ad agency that works yearlong with local companies to promote their brand through high quality work.

I started to explore my creative side in my junior year of high school. I was inspired by an excellent photography teacher (Wendy Crockett) who saw an initial fire in me. She encouraged me to experiment on projects and helped me hone my skills and appreciate all that photography can offer. The SOJC has since added fuel to this fire. It has helped me expand this love and increases my hunger as a creative. I simply want to keep creating to the best of my ability.

When I’m not creating, you may find me deep within my happy place as I read Harry Potter or relax under the sun as I float in the waters of Lake Combie. Regardless of the activity, you can bet that I’m surrounded by either my family or friends — and a camera.
